This, in fact, is one of the central founding principles of the museum’s management. The Accorsi Museum’s programmes are based on offering a generous cultural selection of maximum quality events to the general public of Torino and its tourists. These events, with their capacity to arouse the interest of a wide variety of persons, are made possible thanks to the contribution of some of the topmost professionals in various fields and are thus, excellent mediums for the general public to learn more about the figurative arts and the music and literature of the era embracing the XVII - XIX centuries. The conference room, and in the summer season the courtyard of the Foundation, turn into a stage for the various cultural events which are offered free of charge or complimentary in conjunction with the normal entrance ticket for a visit to the Museum of Decorative Arts. The exhibitions at the Accorsi Museum, dedicated to painting and the decorative arts, which are listed and described for further consultation in the archives of the website, can boast of the involvement of a scientific panel of some of the foremost experts on art history as well as the invaluable contribution of the loan of pieces by private collectors and from some of the most prestigious national museum institutions. The exhibitions are created and organized according to two essential criteria of scientific seriousness which signify an all-inclusive study of the topic being dealt with and the all important attributes of enjoyability and comprehensibility. These are in the sole interest of the general public to whom must be directed all of the activities in a museum such as ours which loves to define itself as a “service museum.” |
